(Oct. 16/13) Following CRFA action, the move to ban new restaurant drive-throughs in Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce has been postponed indefinitely.
In late September, the borough proposed a rule prohibiting new restaurants with drive-throughs within its limits. CRFA and our members immediately set up meetings with the borough’s mayor and two councillors to discuss this issue. We also worked with our members to share the facts about drive-throughs at public consultations, and wrote to all Montreal mayoral candidates to argue against this proposal.
Following this action, the council postponed the proposal. After the Nov. 3 election, a new council will be chosen and it will be up to them to reconsider this ruling. CRFA will proactively connect with the new councillors in an effort to keep this drive-through ban off the table.
