(April 15/18): On April 3, the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC) launched its Dry9 campaign, which stems from its DrinkSense initiative.

Throughout April, the Dry9 campaign will continue a dialogue with the general public by offering information and resources regarding the negative effects of alcohol and pregnancy.

To promote healthy living for pregnant women, the AGLC is encouraging the consumption of non-alcoholic mocktails. The provincial group launched an online mocktail contest inviting Albertans to submit their favourite mocktail recipe. The winning recipe will be posted on the DrinkSense website.

The AGLC states that more than 900 moms-to-be have signed up for the Dry9 movement. To find out more, including helpful tips and videos, visit Dry9.ca.
