(Aug. 24/16) The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) has loosened restrictions on bar and restaurant patio closing hours. Until last month, patios had to stop serving drinks at midnight, and customers were given until 1 a.m. to finish their drinks. The new rules mean last call for restaurant and bar patios is at 1 am, with closing time at 2 a.m.
This is a welcome announcement that should give businesses a boost.
This, combined with other recent changes – flexible liquor service hours during the Stampede, and updated policies on advertising and promotion – highlights the excellent working relationship that Restaurants Canada shares with AGLC.
We look forward to working even more closely with AGLC to give you the best possible operating arrangements.
