Bars and restaurants in New Brunswick are saving even more on liquor

Published February 25, 2021

In recognition of the devastating impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on New Brunswick’s restaurant and hospitality sector, Alcool NB Liquor (ANBL) is providing bars and restaurants in New Brunswick with even more savings through its Licensee Rebate Program.

About the ANBL Licensee Rebate Program

ANBL introduced its Licensee Rebate Program program back in April 2020, following the successful efforts of Restaurants Canada to advocate for a volume discount on beverage alcohol similar to what was already available to bars and restaurants in the other Maritime provinces.

Through the ANBL Licensee Rebate Program, licensees receive rebates based on quarterly alcohol sales.

Additional Savings for 2020

During the first quarter of the 2020 Licensee Rebate Program, ANBL doubled the rebate it sent licensees, in recognition of the unprecedented challenges they were facing due to COVID-19.

ANBL has now announced it will also increase its rebate to licensees for the October – December 2020 period. Licensees will receive up to $1,000 on top of their earned rebate, as per the table below.

Earned Q3 RebateAdditional Rebate
No rebate$150
Less than $100$250
Between $100-$1,000$500
Over $1,000$1,000

On behalf of the many bars and restaurants across New Brunswick still struggling to survive the impacts of COVID-19, Restaurants Canada welcomes this additional support from ANBL.

Including this new one-time payment of $266,000 (including HST), ANBL has so far distributed a total of $874,875 (including HST) to licensees through its rebate program.
