By Chris Elliott, Senior Economist (Jan. 13/14) Consumer confidence in Canada ended the year on a frosty note following steady gains throughout most of 2013. The Conference Board of Canada’s consumer confidence index fell by 6.6 points to 80.5 (2002 = 100) between November and December. Overall, confidence was 2.5 points lower than it was at the start of the year in January.
