Craft beer markups drop in Nova Scotia

Published April 6, 2017

As of April 1, craft beer sold directly to N.S. licensees will see a different markup. The Retail Sales Markup Allocation charged to craft brewers has changed from 50 cents per litre to 5% of wholesale costs of sales made on premise. This markup is consistent with other craft and farm sectors of the beverage alcohol industry, and ensures everyone is treated the same for direct-from-premise sales.

Nova Scotia members: Make sure the new markup structure is applied to your purchases.

Restaurants Canada members: If you have questions about these changes, contact Paul McKay at 1-800-387-5649, ext. 4225, or pmckay@restaurantscanada.org.
