(Sep. 25/13) New Brunswick has initiated a comprehensive three-year review of its workers’ compensation system. The review will study the treatment of supplemental pension benefits following an appeal decision on Canada Pension Retirement Benefits. The first phase of the review focuses on three areas: supplemental benefits, mediation, and the appeal system.
CRFA is concerned that government released a discussion paper with a three-week consultation period during the August holiday period. Government has also not clarified the goals and scope of the review. CRFA will respond to the paper.
