Who: Representatives of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA), including Chair Susan Senecal and President and CEO Garth Whyte, will meet with the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC).
What: CRFA will call on the CDC for a collaborative approach to setting competitive dairy prices that help producers, consumers and restaurateurs buy and sell more dairy. CRFA will ask for:
- a freeze on industrial milk prices for 2014;
- an extension of the 3d class to other restaurant cheeses; and
- improved data information and access.
When: Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m.
Where: Experimental Farm, Building 55. Garth Whyte will be available for interviews before or after the CDC meeting.
CRFA is one of Canada’s largest business associations, with more than 30,000 members representing restaurants, bars, caterers, institutions and other foodservice providers. Canada’s $65-billion restaurant industry employs more than 1.1 million people in communities across the country.
