(Nov. 8/13) CRFA and a delegation of foodservice operators hosted Finance Minister Wes Sheridan and Labour Minister Janice Sherry at an industry roundtable on Prince Edward Island. We briefed the ministers on the size and scope of the industry, the important role restaurants play in the province’s economic and social fabric, and issues of concern to Island operators. We discussed a wide range of topics including:
- the minimum wage review, and the need for tip and training differentials;
- wholesale liquor pricing;
- workers’ compensation legislative changes; and
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP) reforms.
