Based on data from Moneris Data Services, both table- and quick-service restaurants saw an uptick in transaction volume in May compared to April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a year-over-year basis, however, same-store transactions at table-service restaurants declined in May, continuing the downward trend observed in March and April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In contrast, same-store transactions at quick-service restaurants rose in May, building on gains in April. While most provinces saw increased activity, Ontario and Nova Scotia reported slight declines in transaction volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Outlook<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Persistent tariff uncertainty continues to weigh on consumer confidence, contributing to regional declines in foodservice activity.
