(Mar 24/17) Is your business licensed? Do you have sports playing on your televisions? If so, strap in. You may be facing massive price increases to your cable bill.
Rogers and Bell will no longer offer the Sportsnet and TSN suite of stations as part of the cable package offered to your businesses. Instead, this suite will be premium channels that cost you hundreds of dollars per month.
How much will this cost you?

Your cost depends on your liquor licence or capacity, similar to pay-per-view events. For example, if you’re a family-style restaurant with a couple of TVs, you’ll now be forced to pay thousands of dollars a year just to have access to these channels.

It ain't over 'til it's over

Help us fight back on rising Sportsnet and TSN/RDS fees.

When does it take effect?

Most cable providers will make this change on May 1 around the country. In Quebec, the change takes effect Sept. 1. Some cable providers, such as Cogeco and MTS, will not raise the cost of the Sportsnet and TSN suite, and keep it in the regular business packages.
What we’re doing

Restaurants Canada has invited the Presidents of Rogers and Bell to discuss this short-sighted decision. See our letter.
We’re also speaking out in the media. See what we had to say to CBC and the National Post.
How you can help

We’re collecting information on prices across the country. Tell us what you’re hearing from your local cable providers. Share your story and your thoughts with Restaurants Canada’s James Rilett at jrilett@restaurantscanada.org, @restaurantsCA or 1-800-387-5649 ext. 4241.
