(Apr. 30/14) Over the past few months, Restaurants Canada has received an increasing number of member complaints about Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) inspectors. Our members are concerned that inspectors have moved from a collaborative approach with licensees to one that is more combative in nature.
Restaurants Canada shared our members’ concerns with the AGLC at its President’s Advisory Committee meeting on April 1. Other licensee members of the committee reinforced our concerns and asked the AGLC to amend its outdated inducement policy. The AGLC will work with Restaurants Canada on enforcement details, to improve the co-operative relationship between licensees and inspectors.
