Restaurants Canada is asking candidates to:

Link all future minimum wage increases to economic indicators like CPI. We’ve responded to the NDP’s election commitment to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2021, through an op/ed on how this policy is hurting the restaurant industry and youth employment in Alberta.

Introduce a liquor wholesale price for licensees.

Maintain the restaurant meal PST exemption.
Strength in numbers: What you can do
Help us get our message out by sharing your views with candidates, and asking them how they plan to help you continue to grow and create jobs. Use our infographic on B.C.’s foodservice industry to show them how important our industry is to employment and the economy.
Restaurants Canada is also working with the Coalition of BC Businesses to make sure your labour issues are heard in this election. We surveyed members last week on your barriers to growth. We’ll publish these results before May 9.
