Government grants available to hospitality businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador

Published July 9, 2020

On May 25, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, announced a new $25 million support program to assist eligible tourism and hospitality business operators impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Tourism and Hospitality Support Program

Eligible hospitality business operators may apply for a one-time, non-repayable grant of either $5,000 or $10,000, dependent on gross sales. In the event of applicants with less than $10,000 in annual sales in 2019, the grant rate will be calculated at 50 per cent of total sales or 50 per cent of expenditures for new start-ups.

How to apply

Eligibility criteria and instructions for applying to the Tourism and Hospitality Support Program can be found on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s website.
