On March 6, the government of Ontario released a discussion paper on reducing litter and waste and a request for public feedback.
The discussion paper expands upon commitments in Preserving and Protecting our Environment for Future Generations: A Made-in-Ontario Environment Plan, posing questions to help guide future decision-making to divert more waste from landfill.
Restaurants Canada provided a submission in response to the discussion paper, addressing topics such as stewardship fees, food waste, recycling and single-use items.
