(Oct. 14/14) Following Councillor Marvin Rotrand’s call for mandatory menu labelling, Restaurants Canada met with Bernard Gagné, advisor to Public Health Minister Lucie Charlebois, to promote Informed Dining as a more viable alternative.

Mr. Gagné is more interested in nutrition education, and indicated it was unlikely that mandatory measures would be introduced in the minister’s plan for Healthy Living Practices this fall. Mr. Gagné promised to further consider Informed Dining and its potential for policy. We committed to work with him and his team on pushing it forward.
