(Jul. 17/13) Recent media reports suggest Health Minister Hugh Flemming will introduce a universal drug plan partially funded by employers, instead of the ‘catastrophic’ drug plan promised in the election platform. CRFA opposes this new plan because it could impose an additional payroll tax on employers.
In a letter to Minister Flemming, CRFA outlined the negative impact a job-killing payroll tax would have on small businesses. We also urged government, once again, to adopt P.E.I.’s catastrophic drug plan model. Click here (PDF) to read our letter to Minister Flemming.
