(Dec. 11/13) The Government of Nova Scotia has fulfilled its election commitment to introduce a new February holiday. Beginning in 2015, Nova Scotians will get a statutory holiday on the third Monday in February.

CRFA had opposed this move, as it would cost restaurateurs an estimated $2 million or about $1,200 per unit. CRFA will suggest changes that dampen the negative impact on the industry to the Law Amendments Committee of the Legislature.
