(Feb. 08/16) Nova Scotia has announced a new minimum wage, effective April 1, 2016, as follows:
- minimum wage will increase by 10 cents an hour to $10.70
- minimum wage for employees with less than 3 months’ experience will increase by 10 cents to $10.20.
The government announced the new rates at the end of January. Minimum wage increases are determined annually based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index the previous year.
