Do you think foodservice workers should be trained and hired by a “sector council” controlled by labour unions, or do you prefer to hire and train your own staff? Do you think franchisees should have to relinquish control of their own businesses to the parent chain? Do you think you should be responsible for the actions of your service providers? Should employees be forced to unionize without a vote?

If you’re concerned about any of these issues, you need to know about the Ontario government’s Changing Workplaces Review (CWR). All these ideas and more are being considered by the government panel.

The CWR will be working through the summer to recommend changes to the Employment Standards Act and the Labour Relations Act. These recommendations will affect the future of work in Ontario. We will provide additional information as it becomes available. Be ready to have your say!
