Ontario will make it easier to apply for liquor licences

Published April 6, 2017

(Apr. 6/17) Your Restaurants Canada membership makes a difference! The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responding to some of the concerns we’ve raised, and will cut red tape and make it easier to apply for a liquor licence.

Starting this fall, new applicants and current licensees seeking changes will be able to apply through the AGCO’s new online portal. Licences you can apply for online are:

  • Liquor Sales Licence;
  • Ferment on Premise Licence;
  • Liquor Delivery Service Licence; and
  • Licence to Represent a Manufacturer.

This good news follows Restaurants Canada’s call for a better alcohol system through our lobbying and Raise the Bar campaign.

Restaurants Canada members: If you have questions about these changes or would like to learn more about our Raise the Bar campaign, contact Paul McKay at 1-800-387-5649, ext. 4225, or pmckay@restaurantscanada.org.
