Our industry does a lot, from giving young people their first job to donating to food banks. Mohamad Fakih goes above and beyond. A new immigrant himself when he arrived in Canada two decades ago, in 2016 Mohamad committed to hiring up to 100 Syrian refugees to work in his chain of restaurants, Paramount Fine Foods.

More recently, Mohamad offered to cover the funeral costs for the victims of January’s mosque attack in Quebec City. He says it’s just what he’s learned from being a Muslim and being Canadian.
