(Jan. 15/14) For the first time in five years, the province has postponed its minimum wage announcement from the holiday break to the beginning of the new year.

CRFA met with the Labour Minister’s Chief of Staff in December to ask for a freeze on minimum wage given the current state of the economy, or at the very least, keep any increases in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The province’s minimum wage increases have all been based on CPI in the past four years.
