Restaurants Canada and the foodservice industry say goodbye to a committed leader and industry pioneer with the passing of George Murray Tidball on June 3, 2014.
George started his career as an accountant, but gravitated toward foodservice and became an influential industry figure. George brought McDonald’s to Richmond in 1967. He then created his own restaurant chain, The Keg and Cleaver, in 1971. George was also involved in many other business ventures, including the Spaghetti Factory and A&W.
George’s passion for foodservice has left its mark on our industry, and he will be missed.
