Restaurants Canada also met separately with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Minister of Employment and Social Development Jason Kenney to highlight the restaurant industry’s employment and economic contributions to Canada. During the 40-minute meeting, we discussed the important role of immigrants to our industry and country. Restaurants Canada Chair Liam Dolan and Director Gerard Curran relayed how they arrived in Canada with less than $300 but now operate successful businesses that employ more than 200 Canadians in Charlottetown and Calgary.
