(July 14/15) The government is following our recommendation to gradually phase in its mandatory server intervention training, Serve It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS).

This requirement will be set over three years:

  • By June 30, 2016, all owners and managers must have completed the training and new hires must take the training within 30 days of beginning employment.
  • By June 30, 2017, at least one person on each shift must have completed the training.
  • By June 30, 2018, all employees involved in the sale and service of alcohol must have completed SIRS.

The training can be completed online or in group seminars. The Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council will continue to offer it.
