600600p6489EDNmainsaskatchewans_minimum_wage_to_hold_steady_for_another_year(Nov. 13/13) Minister of Labour Relations Don Morgan reassured CRFA that Saskatchewan’s minimum wage will not rise until the new Saskatchewan Employment Act (SEA) indexation formula kicks in next November. Under the SEA, which is expected to take effect in early 2014, any rate increase will be publicly released by April 1.

Minister Morgan noted the indexation formula may change to cover a period longer than the previous 12 months for 2014 only as there was no minimum wage hike in 2013. While he rejected the idea of tip and training differentials, at least for now, Minister Morgan indicated a willingness to continue the dialogue with CRFA.
