Not everyone would leave a group of strangers alone in their restaurant, but one restaurateur did just that after a snowstorm stranded a dozen travellers in Cape Breton. After their bus driver declared road conditions too dangerous to continue, a group of travellers ended up staying in Vi’s Restaurant for almost 24 hours.

Staff fed them and gathered blankets before leaving them to sleep in the booths overnight. The travellers were blown away by the kindness, generosity and trust of owners Beatrice and Robert – and so are we.
