Restaurants Canada has long advocated against continuous and relentless increases in dairy prices. The Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) announced a price reduction of 1.8% for industrial milk earlier this year, the first decline since 1992. This should result in cheaper products such as yogurt, butter and ice cream for our members including, for instance, a saving of 10 to 15 cents per kilo of cheese.
The challenge is to ensure as much of the 1.8% cost saving is passed on to our industry as possible from
processors making these products. Please take a moment to complete a five-minute online survey asking for your experience in receiving the full 1.8% price decrease. We need to hear from you by April 20, 2015, so we can ensure you’re getting your slice of the savings.
