Ontario
London Training Centre’s Local Food Skills program provides employee candidates with elementary food skills for positions in quick service and full-service restaurant kitchens and can be adapted to provide other skills or enhanced training in specific competencies. Subsidies may also be available for training costs and work placements. The program is currently partnered with Yasmine’s Authentic Lebanese Cuisine.
Participants receive training in the following core competencies: Cooking and Service Methodologies, Knife Skills, Steps of Service, Beverage Alcohol Service, Food Safety, Kitchen Equipment, Kitchen Health & Safety, Food Costs.
Participants successfully completing the program can receive certification in the following: Worker Health & Safety Awareness, Safe Food Handling, Customer Service, WHMIS 2015, Smart Serve.
