(Nov. 5/17) Restaurants Canada Chair Bill Allen appeared before the House of Commons Citizenship and Immigration Committee to discuss immigration to Atlantic Canada.  Restaurants Canada is very supportive of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program as a vehicle to allow cooks and chefs to immigrate to Atlantic Canada to fill the industry’s need. However, Restaurants Canada expressed concern with the complexity and length of time needed to meet the criteria of the program. Restaurants Canada also believes the program should be expanded to include low and unskilled occupations.
