Restaurants Canada supports the modernization of the PEI Liquor Control Act

Restaurants Canada was encouraged to hear Prince Edward Island’s Finance Minister Jill Burridge, agree in the legislature yesterday that the time has come to modernize the province’s liquor laws.
PEI’s liquor control system has historically been more regulated than elsewhere in Canada.
Penalizing restaurants and banning servers from serving alcoholic beverages because minors are present during entertainment such as live music or trivia is very much an archaic practice. Times have changed and liquor laws and regulations on PEI need to reflect the realities of today.
