(Aug. 5/16) A recent incident at a Sherbrooke restaurant serves as a reminder to restaurant owners, staff, and customers alike of the serious nature of food allergies, and of the importance of remaining vigilant when it comes to food safety.

Restaurants Canada provides our members information about serving customers who have indicated they have food allergies. We worked with Anaphylaxis Canada (now Food Allergy Canada) and Epipen to produce the publication Food Allergies: A Guide for Restaurants. We also offer guidance on dealing with customers’ food allergies in our guidebook Food Safety Code of Practice.
